  Yesterday afternoon at about 5pm on the Esplande I observed a young person riding an unlicensed dirt bike taunting a police van in front of him. He was revving his engine and weaving around, he then jumped the kerb on the other side of the road and rode down the foot path towards the boat ramps, in the mean time the police van was just cruising along then turned into the boat ramp car park and headed back the way they had come, as they were doing this the dirt bike rider cut through the play ground (which was full of kids) and onto the road right in front of the van and headed in the opposite direction. In the mean time the van is just plodding along towards the round about, goes around it and follows the bike which has disappeared in the distance. The police van didn't even pick up speed to chase the bike. The bike came back a few minutes later at speed, and once through the round about the rider puts his legs over the handle bars and does a wheel stand down the Esplanade. I was waiting for the police van to come after it, but no, it had given up .

  The Esplanade is a place for hooning and speeding, and the police presence is zero.

  The most awful experience supporting a loved one gave me faith that there is so much good In the men in Blue and equally as there is bad journeys and stories we hear in life they are also just men too, a brother, a son, a father doing a job A really tough job. Thank you. George.

  Not open every time I go there. They are only open Monday-Friday 8am-4pm. So basically if you have a problem that is not serious and want to see the police but you have a job you can't see them. Guess petty crimes don't happen on weekends or after 4pm.
